My name is Ingrid Schmidt.
I’m an experienced Language Specialist – Portuguese (Brazil), English and Dutch and have mainly specialized in Language Trainings.
Having been brought up between Brazil and The Netherlands, I’ve always nurtured deep interest in the study of languages, literature and cultures. Therefore, in 2007, I graduated in Portuguese and English Language, Literature and Culture (BA) at the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in São Paulo, Brazil. Later, in 2008, I further specialized in the English language by taking a Master degree in American Studies at the Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
In São Paulo I’ve had the opportunity to teach both English and Portuguese at several language institutes and in-company trainings. This provided me with the chance to work with different methods and pedagogical techniques through which I was able to build my professional experience as a language teacher.
In 2009 I started working as a language coach – English, Dutch and Portuguese (Brazil) – in The Netherlands. By making use of up-to-date methodologies, language games, audio-visual material and a tiny bit of good old Dutch ‘gezelligheid’, I try to make my classes not only instructive and efficient but also easygoing and fun!
Obviously I take a lot of pleasure in my profession and am therefore constantly trying to improve myself, however, I believe I’ve learned the most by listening carefully to the needs and doubts of my students. For me, languages are a continuous and exciting voyage through different cultures and world perspectives which I love to share with others.
